Today I migrated my site from shared hosting to Amazon S3. http://mattmorr.is/blog/2012/12/28/hosting-a-naked-domain-on-amazon-s3

@rands Lego with the kids.
🗣
@nevyn Ugh that’s a bummer. Are you certain that it’s not dispatch_sync’ing back onto the same queue?
🗣
Looks like DNS is catching up. The site loads much faster than on shared hosting.
🗣
While watching DTKR, I’m attempting to migrate one of my websites to s3 static hosting. Waiting now for DNS to propagate.

It’s movie day at work. The Dark Knight Rises!

@jaminguy @jaredsinclair If something like this happened to me, my wife would kill me 🙂 http://www.behind-the-enemy-lines.com/2012/04/google-attack-how-i-self-attacked.html?m=1
🗣
@jaminguy @jaredsinclair Yeah probably. I’m only now dipping my toe in Amazon’s waters, so I’m still learning. Currently my sites are on shared hosting. If I take too many resources my site will just stop responding and I’ll be asked to move to a VPS.
🗣
@jaredsinclair Ahh cool. My final concern would be that the worst-case monthly cost is potentially infinite. For example, what if your site is hit as part of a DDoS attack against amazon? Maybe they have safeguards one can turn on for that. // @jaminguy
