This year, I am thankful that I am not cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

And my kids got to hear their dad deliver a heartfelt apology. Lots of teachable moments yesterday.

I was able to make contact with the dog’s family. They were very understanding and were mostly concerned that my kids weren’t traumatized.

@chartier For a second, I thought that was Ballmer singing.

I still feel ill about what happened this morning. Poor dog.

@ched83 Yeah, I decided to go with an apology and an open ended offer to help. Don’t want to imply that the dog is replaceable.

@sleevi_ As a dog owner, does that sound like the right move?

@sleevi_ I’m going to hand write an apology with an explanation of what happened, along with some money for a new dog.
